                             Notice regarding an extraordinary loss

MARUWA CO., LTD. today announced that an extraordinary loss was recorded in the full year
2008
ended in March.  Details are as follows;

1. Recording an extraordinary loss

Maruwa Electronics (Philippines), Inc. (hereinafter "Maruwa Philippines"), our manufacturing
subsidiary to produce electronic components and to sell them to us, halted its operations as
products manufactured at Maruwa Philippines were transferred to our manufacturing subsidiaries
in
Malaysia and India.  We determined to dissolve Maruwa Philippines; as a result, we posted a
loss
on dissolution of the subsidiary, 96 million yen (consolidated), 195 million yen
(non-consolidated).

2. Influences to operating results

The loss stated above is included in the final results for the full fiscal year 2008 ended in
March, which was announced today.
