Ziopharm reports positive result in Phase II study for bone sarcomas drug (Ziopharm Oncology In)

        NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Ziopharm Oncology Inc. Monday reported a
positive result in its Phase II study for ZIO-201, which treats soft tissue and
bone sarcomas.
    The New York-based pharmaceutical company said 48% of its evaluable patients
had stable disease or better during the study, and that progression free
survival rates compared favorably to rates reported for historical controls with
fewer serious toxicities.
    Shares of Ziopharm closed Friday at $3.54.
