The Japanese yen held steady against major currencies after the releasing of June numbers for current account and trade balance reports in early Asian deals on Wednesday. Japan posted a current account surplus of 433.3 billion yen in June, the Ministry of Finance said today.

Another report released by the Ministry of Trade said that Japan trade surplus was recorded at 112.0 billion yen for the month of June.

At present, the yen is trading near 97.43 against the euro, 78.64 versus the US dollar, 122.83 against the British pound and 81.11 versus the Swiss franc.
