Small business event features local women business owners

WHAT:

The Women’s Business Symposium stop in Chicago provides several hundred women business owners to hear from, get inspired by, and network with local business owners as well as nationally renown women business owners.  

WHO:

Keynote – *Laurie Greiner, inventor, entrepreneur and star of “Shark Tank”

Panelists:

Beverly Johnson, supermodel, actress, author and entrepreneur. Johnson currently runs Beverly Johnson Enterprises, a company that produces The Beverly Johnson Luxurious Lifestyle Brand of products including luxury Remi hair extensions, wigs, cosmetics, handbags and more.

Lauren Rubinson-Morris, president & CEO, MedEx Ambulance Service. Rubinson-Morris founded MedEx in 1998. The company has more than 50 ambulances, 15 wheelchair vans and employs more than 350 emts, paramedics, and administrative staff.

Dr. Susan McClanahan, founder & president, Insight Behavior Health Center. A licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. McClanahan started her business due to the frustrating lack of local treatment centers. She is also an instructor at Northwestern University.

 

WHY:

The participants learn real lessons from successful business women on topics such as:

• How to get ahead/break down walls

• How to be viewed as a “person” in business versus a “woman” in business

• How to stay inspired and continue to evolve
