NEW ORLEANS, La., Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Whitney National Bank today announced the hiring of Francisco "Frank" DeArmas as Executive Vice President, Operations and Technology. DeArmas will report to Robert C. Baird Jr., Executive Vice President of Banking Services.

DeArmas has twenty plus years of experience in the technology and financial services industries and has worked for a number of well respected companies, including General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Comerica and BISYS, where he held executive and senior level management positions. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Northwood University, an MBA from California Coast University, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership with a Specialization in Information Systems and Technology.
DeArmas is actively involved in many professional and civic organizations. He is currently the Chairman of the Hispanic Information Technology Executives Council (HiTec), and an active member of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs and the Oracle Advisory Board. He is a former director of The Comerica Foundation and Alternatives for Girls in Detroit, Michigan.
DeArmas replaces Rodney D. Chard, who will oversee Strategic Project Implementation until his retirement later this year.
