G-Technology Evolution Series Ecosystem
Enhanced; led by the New Atomos-Compatible Reader and Caddys, a
CFast ev Series Reader and a 2TB G-DRIVE ev Storage Module,
Providing More Speed, Flexibility and Capacity from Capture and
Backup to Post-Production
IBC2016 (Hall 7, Stand 7.H39) G-Technology®, a trusted premium storage brand by Western
Digital (NASDAQ: WDC) and Atomos®, a leading provider of smart 4K
and HD video production tools, today announced a suite of storage
solutions designed to streamline the content creation process. The
new solutions include the ev Series Reader Atomos Master Caddy
Edition, the Atomos Master Caddy 4K by G-Technology and the Atomos
Master Caddy HD by G-Technology.
Also announced today is the new G-Technology ev Series Reader
CFast 2.0 Edition, supporting fast CFast media cards for 4K video
workflows for people using professional cameras. In addition, the
G-Technology brand announced the new rugged and lightweight 2TB
G-DRIVE® ev RaW with up to 100 percent more capacity for creative
professionals on the go.
All of these solutions will be showcased at IBC, September 9-13,
in Amsterdam at the G-Technology booth in Hall 7, Stand 7.H39. The
Atomos-compatible solutions and workflows from G-Technology will be
shown in G-Technology’s booth as well as in the Atomos booth
located in Hall 11, Stand 11.D25.
“Data management and the creative processes used in the media
and entertainment industry are constantly evolving,” said Mike
Williams, vice president of G-Technology, a Western Digital brand.
“Time is money when it comes to the ability to transfer and ingest
captured 4K, HDR and HD video from production into
post-production. Eliminating some of the headaches that comes
with that can make all the difference, and that’s exactly the
genesis of these new advanced storage solutions. It’s been
especially rewarding working with Atomos on these new-generation
products that help streamline the creative workflow process.”
“This is big! Media affordability and faster workflows are two
pillars that have made Atomos one of the fastest growing companies
in the video industry,” said Jeromy Young, CEO and co-founder of
Atomos. “Our partnership with the G-Technology brand further
enhances media affordability and takes workflows to breakneck
speeds, directly integrating our Master Caddy into the G-Technology
ev Series family ecosystem. We are always extremely proud to
partner with industry leading solutions like G-Technology,
delivering Apple ProRes 4K HDR for under $150 per hour with the
peace of mind of a guaranteed manufacturer’s solution.”
Using Atomos on set or in the field is the simplest and easiest
recording and monitoring solution today, however the recorder to
edit transfer can vex video professionals who are often on tight
production deadlines. The Atomos-compatible Reader and Caddys by
G-Technology helps solve this problem by streamlining
workflows.

Series Reader Atomos Master Caddy Edition, which slips into any
