Airline achieves its third highest February load factor and flies a record 1.6 million guests

CALGARY, March 3, 2015 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced February 2015 traffic results with a load factor of 84.3 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 3.3 per cent year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 3.7 per cent over the same period. The airline flew 1.6 million guests in February, a year-over-year increase of 2.8 per cent or approximately 44,000 additional guests, and achieved an on-time performance rate of 75.8 per cent in the month, a year-over-year improvement of 6.7 percentage points.

In February, WestJet Encore launched new, non-stop service between Edmonton, Alberta and Kamloops, British Columbia. This new service provides WestJet guests with easy access to the business and leisure opportunities available in the Thompson Country, as well as friendly, affordable non-stop access to the broader WestJet network for guests in the Kamloops area.
