SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Werner Enterprises Inc. late Thursday
reported second-quarter net earnings of $18.1 million, or 25 cents a share, down
from $22.3 million, or 30 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was for a per-share
profit of 20 cents.
Revenue in the period ended June 30 increased 9% to $578.2 million, versus
the $548 million consensus estimate. Revenue, excluding trucking fuel
surcharges, declined 3% to $443.3 million.
Shares of the Omaha, Neb.-based truckload transportation and logistics
company closed at $21.96.
