LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Walker Greenbank Plc. posted a 23 percent rise
in first-half pretax profit and said it expects to be in line with market
expectations for the full year, dependent on the key autumn selling period.
For the six months to July 31, 2008, the luxury interior furnishings group's
pretax profit rose to 1.72 million pounds from 1.40 million a year earlier while
revenue rose 7 percent to 33.01 million pounds.
"With the level of product and marketing investment made in our premium end
brands we remain confident about the future progress of the group," said
chairman Ian Kirkham.
