FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Volkswagen AG chief executive Martin
Winterkorn expects to remain a manager in the company after Porsche AG becomes
the German carmaker's majority shareholder, according to an interview in
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
"I am turning 61 years old in May, and I have a five-year contract,"
Winterkorn told the newspaper.
"I am convinced that the team works well with me as the boss, and that makes
the company more successful."
Porsche earlier this month announced its holding company Porsche Automobil
Holding SE has given permission for the luxury carmaker to increase its stake in
VW to a majority level from the current 31 pct level.
