WELLINGTON -(Dow Jones)- Vodafone New Zealand and Telecom Corp. of New Zealand (TEL.NZ) said Thursday they have agreed to abandon legal proceedings that would have halted the launch of Telecom's new mobile network, XT.
Vodafone and Telecom NZ said in a joint statement they have worked together over the last 48 hours to resolve issues between them, which have been identified by both parties, the companies said.
Vodafone had sought an injunction, claiming that Telecom's new third-generation network was interfering with its mobile network.
Telecom said it had agreed to extend its network filter installation program to help resolve the interference identified as affecting Vodafone mobile customers.
As part of the agreement, Telecom said it will push back the launch of the XT mobile network to the end of this month. It had been planned to launch May 13.
