Viejas Tribe Donates $50,000 to Police Officers Association

Widows & Orphans Fund to receive $50,000
from Viejas Tribe
At 12:30 PM, August 29, 2016, The Viejas Tribe, represented by
Tribal Chairman Robert Welch Jr., will present a $50,000 donation
to the San Diego Police Officers Association. Brian Marvel,
President of the Police Officers Association, will receive the
donation and will be accompanied by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer
and San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman.
The donation, specifically focused towards the Widows and
Orphans Fund, is intended to honor the service of those who have
sacrificed all and to provide support to their families. Chairman
Welch stated, “The Viejas Tribe is proud to support the Police
Officers Association and believes in their mission of healing and
caring for the families that have lost loved ones in the line of
duty.”
The donation presentation will take place at 12:30 PM, at the
SDPD Headquarters on August 29, 2016.
