NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Versant Corp. shares climbed Wednesday after
reporting fourth-quarter results that rose from 2006.
On Tuesday after the bell, the Redwood City, Calif.-based data management
software company reported net income of $2.1 million, or 56 cents a share.
Revenue rose 21% to $5.6 million. The company said the rise in revenue was
driven by a 45% increase in licensing revenue.
In the year-ago period, the company posted net income of $1.4 million, or 38
cents a share on revenue of $4.6 million.
Versant sees 2008 earnings of $2.50 a share, on revenue of $24 million. In
2007 it earned of $2.06 share on revenue of $21.2 million.
Shares of Versant rose 18% to $25, near the 52-week high of $25.22 reached
June 20.
