FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Volkswagen AG wants to produce a maximum of
250,000 cars per year in a production facility it is planning to build in the
US, VW management board member Jochem Heizmann said in an interview with Auto
Motor und Sport trade magazine.
The cars to be produced in the planned factory should also have around 80
pct of their components imported from the NAFTA (North American Free Trade
Agreement) region, he said.
VW this month disclosed it was examining potential locations for a car
manufacturing plant it plans to build in the US. It said a decision is expected
this summer.
