The company's Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Seabourn are participating in the month-long campaign, organized by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), offering consumers special deals and incentives – and free cruises – to highlight why planning a cruise is a smart vacation decision.

As part of National Plan a Cruise Month, Holland America Line, Carnival Cruise Line, Cunard, Princess Cruises and Seabourn are giving away cruise vacations for two through CLIA's #CruiseSmile Sweepstakes. The contest asks participants to upload a photo by visiting the #CruiseSmile microsite — www.cruisesmile.org — and share it via Facebook or Twitter, or by uploading a photo directly to their Twitter or Instagram profiles using the hashtag #CruiseSmile and tagging a friend. One winner will be randomly selected each day.

Carnival Corporation cruise giveaways for #CruiseSmile Sweepstakes include:

  • Oct. 7 – Princess Cruises is giving away a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise aboard Caribbean Princess. Guests will discover Belize City, Costa Maya and the island of Cozumel.
  • Oct. 12 – Seabourn is giving away a 7-day Mediterranean cruise aboard Seabourn Odyssey. Guests will explore the Greek Isles, historic cities of Turkey and scenic ports on the Dalmatian Coast.
  • Oct. 16 – Holland America Line is giving away a 4-day cruise to the Bahamas aboard the soon-to-be-launched ms Koningsdam. Guests will visit Nassau and Holland America Line's award-winning private island, Half Moon Cay.

  • Oct. 24 – Holland America Line is giving away a 4-day cruise to the Bahamas aboard the soon-to-be-launched ms Koningsdam. Guests will visit Nassau and Holland America Line's award-winning private island, Half Moon Cay.
  • Oct. 31 – Cunard is giving away a 7-night Transatlantic Crossing – Southampton to New York – aboard the line's flagship Queen Mary 2. Guests will delight in the grandeur of this iconic voyage made famous by luminaries of the past and present.

In addition to cruise giveaways, the six participating brands are also offering special promotions and savings.

Holland America Line: It is featuring the exclusive "Explore 4" promotion on select holiday 2015 cruises, as well as January 2016 through April 2017 sailings. The promotion provides four added-value extras: a free Signature Beverage Package valued at up to $1,400, free Pinnacle Grill dinner for two, reduced cruise fares for third and fourth guests in the same stateroom and 50 percent reduced deposits. Suite bookings also receive a $300 onboard spending credit per stateroom ($150 per person) and a free Canaletto dinner in addition to the other offers.

Guests looking to take advantage of the "Explore 4" program can choose select itineraries to nearly all of Holland America Line's global destinations, including Alaska and Alaska/Yukon Land+Sea Journeys, Bermuda, Canada/New England, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Baltic Europe, Mexico, Hawaii and Panama Canal.

Travelers making a booking during National Plan a Cruise Month on select 2015, 2016 and 2017 cruises also receive a special onboard credit, depending on the length of the cruise and type of cabin booked. Guests can receive up to $400 per stateroom in onboard credits in addition to all of the "Explore 4" offers, when applicable. For example, guests who book a suite on a 15-day cruise receive a bonus $400 per stateroom in onboard credits.

Carnival Cruise Line: It is providing guests with Early Saver rates plus a $50 per stateroom shipboard credit throughout the month of October on select sailings. In addition, throughout October, Carnival Cruise Line is offering Early Saver rates plus a $100 per stateroom shipboard credit on all of the 2016 European voyages by Carnival Vista, its newest ship that will begin sailing in 2016.

Seabourn: It is offering 50 percent off deposits and shipboard credits for the month of October. The reduced deposit offer is valid for new bookings only, on all voyages departing between April 23, 2016 and March 31, 2017. Shipboard credit offer is valid for new bookings only, on all voyages departing between April 23, 2016 and March 31, 2017. Guests will receive $100 credit per suite ($50 per person) available on voyages from 10 days or longer and $50 per suite ($25 per person) available on voyages from 7-9 days in length.

Costa Cruises: It is offering the "Early Booking Dream Sales Event" during National Plan a Cruise Month. Guests can enjoy reduced rates, reduced deposits and onboard credits of up to $800 per cabin on select 2016 Mediterranean cruises.

Costa Cruises is promoting Mediterranean cruises in October with reduced rates and deposits of $100 per person (usually $400) on eight ships and on itineraries from March through December 2016. The line also is offering onboard credits ranging from $50 to $400 per person, double occupancy, depending on the level of cabin booked and duration of the cruise. Onboard credits vary depending on interior, outside, balcony and suite cabins, and range up to $200 per person, double occupancy, for cruises up to seven nights; up to $300 on itineraries of eight or nine nights; and up to $400 on cruises 10 nights or longer. 

Cunard: It is offering free upgrades plus a $150 reduced deposit on 2016 transatlantic crossings and 2016 Mediterranean voyages. Cunard launches "The Ultimate Upgrade," an offer including free stateroom upgrades, free gratuities and a $150 deposit per person on select 2016 voyages on board Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. In addition to the standard list of elite offerings such as private restaurants, terraces, lounges and concierge service available to all Grills guests and butler service for Queens Grill guests, "The Ultimate Upgrade" promotion will add complimentary drinks.

Princess Cruises: With its "3 for FREE Sale" on 6-day or longer sailings for summer 2016 and spring 2017, guests can relax in the Caribbean, explore the extraordinary in Europe or journey north to Alaska. The "3 for FREE" benefits include stateroom location upgrade, pre-paid gratuities for the first and second guests, and specialty dining for two, plus a bottle of wine when booking a mini-suite or suite.
