NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - United Microelectronics Wednesday named
Shih-Wei Sun to the position of chief executive officer. Stan Hung was named to
the position of chairman.
Both men succeed Jackson Hu, who has resigned to pursue a role as a senior
advisor to the company.
Sun currently serves as United Microelectronics's chief operating officer.
Hung is the company's senior vice president.
Shares of United Microelectronics closed Tuesday at $2.67.
