                       National Weekly Rice Summary 
                 (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California) 
 
                             Domestic Trend 
 
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices steady with a lower 
undertone.  Parboiled, Second heads and Brewers prices mostly steady.  Rice by- 
products: Rice Bran prices steady to firm; Millfeed and ground hull prices not 
well tested due to limited quotes.  Louisiana ports continues to ship rough rice 
south.  Water allocation and costs in Texas continues to be a hot topic. 
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady to weak.  Second heads 
and Brewers prices steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran prices mostly steady. 
Rice hulls spot trade not well tested.  Market prices continues to soften. 
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday 5th, Mar 16 closed .07 higher at 11.12; 
May 16 closed .07 higher at 11.395; Jul 16 closed .07 higher at 11.675.  US 
dollar index on Friday settled at 96.96.
