DALLAS (AP) - Building materials maker U.S. Home Systems Inc. said Monday it
extended an agreement to supply home-improvement retailer Home Depot Inc.
As part of the deal, U.S. Home will stop selling wood deck products in Home
Depot markets in the Midwest, Boston, Connecticut, Virginia Beach, Va., and
Atlanta. That will cost the company about $6 million in annual revenue.
U.S. Home will phase out sales and installation of wood deck products in all
Home Depot markets.
The company will also begin offering its deck products in Northeast markets
under its Designer Deck brand as it moves out of The Home Depot markets.
The deal extends U.S. Home's contract to supply Home Depot stores with bath
and kitchen cabinets through February 2011. The company will also offer decking
in some markets.
