LONDON, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Britain's Weir Group Plc, which makes pumps and
valves for moving minerals, oil and gas, raised its full-year profit forecast by
2.8 percent, after a third quarter of good growth in input, revenue and profit.
Weir said on Thursday its 2008 profit from continuing operations before tax,
intangibles amortisation and exceptional items would be around 170 million
pounds ($299 million), up from the 165.4 million it forecast in August.
