LONDON (Thomson Financial) - The UK Office of Fair Trade said it has decided
not to refer Babcock International Group's acquisition of Weir Group Plc.'s
Strachan & Henshaw division to the Competition Commission under the provisions
of the Enterprise Act 2002, in effect approving the merger.
On April 21 2008, engineering support services company, Babcock
International said it bought Weir Strachan & Henshaw (S&H) from the Weir Group
for 65 million pounds cash.
