LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Shares in Osmetech advanced 2-1/4 pence to 21
following news that a biomarker, for which the molecular diagnostics specialist
has an exclusive license, has been shown to enhance the accuracy of testing
during thrombosis and embolism treatment.
Bumper half-yearly numbers lifted Goldplat 1-1/4 to 17, while Alphameric
also edged up 1-1/4 to 24-3/4 after the company won a contract extension worth
more than 2.5 mln stg with Costa Coffee for a further two years from March 2009
to March 2011.
Contract news also spurred AT Communications, 1-1/2 up at 31. The group's
Rocom division has secured a two-year contract to supply communications
equipment to online retailer, Amazon.
The contract is expected to generate more than several mln stg in sales a
year over the period and is an extension to an existing contract first awarded
in 2004.
Again on an upward path, identity specialist GB Group celebrated a move into
profitability in its final quarter with a gain of 1-1/4 to 29-1/2.
