BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - U.S. Physical Therapy Inc. Thursday reported
fourth-quarter net income of $2.5 million, or 21 cents a share, compared to $2.1
million, or 18 cents a share, a year earlier.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for earnings
of 18 cents a share.
Net revenue from continuing operations for the three month period ended Dec.
31 rose 30% to $44.2 million from $33.9 million a year ago. The consensus of
three analysts on Wall Street was for fourth-quarter revenue of $42.5 million.
The Houston-based outpatient physical and occupational therapy provider also
said patient visits rose 27% to 445,000 from 350,000 in 2006 and average net
patient revenue per visit increased 1% to $96.75 from $96.09.
The stock closed at $13.32 on Wednesday.
