The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has presented
PECO with its famed ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year: Sustained
Excellence Award. The award recognizes the success of PECO Smart
Ideas, the company’s highly successful suite of energy efficiency
programs to help customers save energy and money. PECO, along with
sister Exelon utilities BGE in Baltimore, ComEd in Chicago,
Delmarva Power in Wilmington, Del. and Pepco in Washington D.C.,
were honored for their long-term commitment to energy efficiency at
the EPA awards ceremony held in Washington, D.C. last week.

This is the first year PECO has received the Sustained
Excellence designation. This award is reserved for those who have
received the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award more than three
times and exhibit exceptional leadership year after year in the
ENERGY STAR program while remaining dedicated to environmental
protection through superior energy efficiency.
Since the inception of PECO Smart Ideas in 2009, PECO has
received eight awards in total and now receives its fourth Partner
of the Year Award in Energy Efficiency Program Delivery for its
continued leadership in protecting the environment through energy
efficiency efforts. The company is commended for its continuous
contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by delivering
information, services and products to its customers to increase
energy efficiency.
PECO Smart Ideas offers programs to help residential, business,
government, nonprofit and institutional customers save energy and
