Amdocs (NASDAQ:DOX), a leading provider of software and services to communications and media companies, today announced that Orange Spain, the Spanish telecommunications provider, will launch a Smart Security solution with advanced video and home automation capabilities. This solution is the result of a partnership between Amdocs and the Tyco security units of Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI).

Orange is an established provider of digital services into the home, and this Smart Security service is a natural extension to these offerings. The service is a robust, regulated, professionally installed and monitored home security solution, on top of which Orange will offer an extensive catalog of add-ons, such as video monitoring and recording, home automation and energy management. To ensure a swift launch and smooth operations, Orange selected the end-to-end turnkey solution from Tyco and Amdocs.

Amdocs provides a multi-tenant, cloud-based Connected Home solution under a SaaS (software-as-a-service) business model for cost efficiency and rapid go to market. The solution smoothly integrates with a service provider’s existing business and operational support systems (BSS/OSS), network and customer management systems.

As a global market leader in home security, Tyco brings a complete set of professional services, including a next-generation security panel (certified for the Spanish market), home kit installation, devices supply chain and a large catalog of security and safety detectors and accessories. In addition, Tyco is providing Orange with an alarm monitoring center and call support center, including 24-hour immediate and professional response with notice to the state security forces, offering an unprecedented level of security in a solution of this type.

“Home security is the foundation for any Smart Home solution, and it requires robustness and reliability,” said Gary Miles, chief marketing officer at Amdocs. “Orange Spain is offering its customers an end-to-end, professionally managed service that will provide them with the home security they desire, as well as address technical issues such as false alarm reduction or anti-jamming, or operational and organizational challenges such as supply chain, installation, maintenance and support services. Amdocs and Tyco are solving these challenges for Orange Spain by providing a complete, co-branded Orange-Tyco solution that enriches their Internet of Things ecosystem of services.”

“Today’s users demand safety, comfort and efficiency,” said Ricardo Arroyo, president of Iberia at Tyco/Johnson Controls. “The combination of Tyco security solutions and services and Amdocs’ Connected Home platform allows Orange Spain to bring to market a complete Smart Security solution, with a perfect mixture of security, visibility and control over the different elements of the home – providing its customers with greater well-being and efficiency, together with a high level of security. Orange Spain is well-positioned to differentiate itself with Smart Security services by leveraging their existing assets, including a large nationwide customer base, a trusted brand, multiplay bundle, connectivity control, retail stores and local presence.”
