LONDON--Tullow Oil PLC (TLW.LN) said Wednesday it will have to repay Heritage Oil PLC $2.5 million plus interest after Heritage appealed against a tax case Tullow won in the High Court last year.

The Court of Appeal in London ruled in Tullow's favor in all but one of the points appealed by Heritage, Tullow said Wednesday.

The appeal was against Tullow's victory in a case concerning tax payments it made on Heritage's behalf in Uganda.

-Tullow shares were unchanged at 770 pence valuing the company at GBP7 billion ($12 billion).
