Tullow Oil Abandons Emesek-1 Well in Northern Kenya

LONDON--Africa-focused Tullow Oil PLC (TLW.LN) said Tuesday it
will plug and abandon the Emesek-1 exploration well in Block 13T in
the North Lokichar basin, northern Kenya, after failing to
encounter commercial quantities of oil and gas.
Following completion of operations, the rig at Emesek-1 will
move to the South Lokichar basin to drill the Etom-2 well which is
expected to start drilling in late November.
Tullow is a 50% owner and operator of Block 13T while Africa Oil
Corporation owns the reamining 50% stake.
