PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Total said that the Sabine Pass liquefied
natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal in Louisiana in the southern United
States was inaugurated today.
The French oil group said it has reserved rights to 10 billion cubic metres
a year in regasification capacity, beginning in April 2009.
The terminal, built by Cheniere Energy Inc., has a capacity of 26 billion
cubic meters per year, which will be increased in a second phase development to
40 billion, making it the largest LNG terminal in the U.S., Total said.
