What:     Orthopaedic Institute for Children (OIC) Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Groundbreaking Ceremony and Volunteer Recognition Celebration – “Breaking Barriers for Kids: Better Access, Better Care”   When: Saturday, May 30, 2015, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.   Where: Orthopaedic Institute for Children, 403 W. Adams Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90007 (OIC Outpatient Clinic - basement)   Why: The $10 million, 13,000 square foot ASC will increase capacity to treat children, reduce surgery wait times to provide better access, better care; 2 operating rooms, 6 pre-and post-surgical suites   Who:

This is a free event open to the public. Also attending will be hospital staff, volunteers, board of trustee members, community dignitaries and of course – OIC Patients

  How: The center is funded by a capital campaign. To date $6 million has been raised. This is the first Ambulatory Surgery Center in the City of Los Angeles to follow City permitting process rather than State (OSHPD) or Federal
