NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Titan Pharmaceuticals Inc. Wednesday said a
Phase IIb trial of Parkinson's disease therapy Spheramine failed to meet its
primary or key secondary endpoints, with no significant differences detected
between the Spheramine and sham surgery arms of the study after 12 months of
follow-up.
The company said it is disappointed in the results and doesn't expect its
partner, Bayer Schering Pharma, to continue development of the product.
Titan shares closed at $1.31 on Tuesday.
