NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Theravance Inc. said late Thursday it
received notice from the Food and Drug Administration that the agency's
anti-infective drugs advisory committee may soon meet to review the new drug
application for telavancin.
Telavancin is a bactericidal, once-daily injectable antibiotic proposed to
treat complicated skin and skin structure infections caused by Gram-positive
bacteria.
The stock of the South San Francisco, Calif.-based pharmaceutical company
closed the regular session at $21.30.
