The UPS Access Point Network offers
sustainable, convenient and flexible delivery options for Canadian
consumers, businesses and local communities.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 16, 2017 /CNW/ - The e-commerce
revolution has quickly boosted demand for convenient places to
pick-up and drop-off packages. That's why UPS Canada (NYSE:UPS) is
proud to announce that The UPS Access Point Network now includes
more than 1,000 locations offering convenient package services in
Canadian communities.
UPS Canada commemorated the
milestone on August 1 at the newest
location: The UPS Store® Canada #517 in Brampton, ON. Linda
Jeffrey, Mayor of Brampton
and representatives from Member of Parliament Sonia Sidhu of
Brampton South attended and delivered remarks to community
residents, who enjoyed cuisine from a neighbourhood vendor and
participated in exciting giveaways.
"With the continued growth of e-commerce comes more packages.
UPS is focused on growing with this trend by improving the online
shopping experience," says Nicolas
Dorget, vice-president of strategic alliances, UPS Canada.
"The UPS Access Point Network is designed with Canadian consumers
and businesses at top of mind. At their leisure, online shoppers
are able to walk, drive or bike to a nearby UPS Access Point
location to safely pick-up packages or drop-off return
shipments."
UPS Access Point® locations, which offer extended
evening weekend hours at local businesses ranging from The UPS
Store Canada to pharmacies, are integrated with UPS My Choice®, service which gives
recipients more control over when and where they want their
deliveries. More than 900,000 UPS My Choice members across
Canada receive delivery
notifications on incoming shipments and the ability to reschedule,
redirect or have packages delivered to their preferred UPS Access
Point location.
UPS has delivered more than 1 billion packages to global UPS My
Choice members since the service began in 2011. The service is free
of charge and sign-up is easy here.
The UPS Access Point Network enables Canadian shippers a
convenient delivery alternative at one of more than 1,000 UPS
Access Point locations in Canada.
Local Canadian businesses who operate as a UPS Access Point
location meet specific UPS certification criteria including: sound
store management, friendliness, a good location and flexible
operating hours.
The UPS Access Point Network supports the company's priority on
sustainable practices, while contributing to community safety. The
UPS Access Point delivery solution provides customers with
additional convenience, while cutting down on unnecessary
package-delivery trips and emissions. When unable to make a
delivery at a consumer's residence, UPS drivers will leave a note
indicating when and where the package will be available for pickup
at a UPS Access Point location. Consumers need a photo
identification to obtain their packages.
Globally, UPS has reached more than 27,000 UPS Access Point
locations and more than 37 million UPS My Choice members.
