The group learned more about the Firm's unique model and various departments and functions, and heard Robert L. Siegfried, Jr., CPA, Chief Executive Officer and President, speak about the Firm's higher purpose.

Siegfried's orientation program is centered on introducing new professionals to the Firm's extraordinary culture. It is a great opportunity to meet members of the Firm's Leadership, the Operations team and other fellow Professional Resources, while enjoying an exciting venue. The four-day program includes sessions on the Firm's structure, Siegfried's Client Service Delivery Model™, Professional Resource expectations, as well as interactive presentations from all of the departments at Corporate. The group was able to unwind during cocktail receptions as well as enjoy small group dinners held at some of Philadelphia's finest restaurants.

In Siegfried's West region, the Firm is excited about Alan Theng and Douglas Marshall joining the team.

Alan Theng, CA

Alan is a Chartered Accountant who joins Siegfried's San Francisco Market as a Senior Associate. He joins us from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he has four years of audit experience working within a variety of industries. He received his Diploma of Accounting from the University of British Columbia, and his BA in Physical and Biological anthropology from Pomona College. After spending his undergraduate years in California, Alan once again made the move from Canada to join Siegfried.

According to Alan, he joined Siegfried to gain exposure with new clients, new industries and new experiences. Alan comments, "It is clear from the start that Siegfried is focused on ensuring that each resource is well prepared and supported throughout the entire engagement."

In addition to his accounting skills, Alan can speak Cantonese fluently, and once spent a summer on an archaeological dig!

Douglas Marshall, CPA

Douglas is a Certified Public Accountant in the San Francisco market. He joins us from Japan, where he spent three and a half years working as a Business Analyst for Abbott Laboratories, Inc. He has also previously worked as a Senior Consultant for Ernst & Young, and has his BS in both Accounting and Japanese from New York University.

Douglas says, "I joined the Firm because I was seeking diverse corporate accounting experience in the industry without being locked to one company."

Douglas has traveled all over the world, and in addition to living in Japan he has lived in Singapore as a foreign exchange student. In his leisure time, he enjoys doing gymnastics and his goal for 2014 is to learn how to do a press handstand!
