NEW YORK, June 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Knot, Inc. (http://www.theknot.com/) (NASDAQ:KNOT) today announced the relaunch of its

The new GreatBoyfriends.com features a hip, smart design, simple navigation and
enhanced profiles. The site is already known for its unique online dating model
-- a social networking style service that enables matchmakers (ex-girlfriends,
moms, best friends, etc.) to post honest, clever profiles on behalf of their
most desirable singles -- at no charge. Singles seeking romance can contact
these "pre-owned and pre-approved" GreatBoyfriends(TM) or GreatGirlfriends(TM)
for a monthly fee of $20.
The site's unique recommendations feature a signature rating system with novel
personality and attribute fields for dateworthy details from key traits (humor,
loyalty, honesty) to smarts and hobbies to witty 411 (i.e. if he'd prefer to
have Halle Berry or Albert Einstein over for dinner; if she's got Depeche Mode
or Spice Girls loaded on her iPod, and if his Great Dane will get along with
her tiny Maltese.).
Expanded relationship advice features the brand's trademark fresh,
straightforward voice. Relationship and online dating editorial is highlighted
prominently throughout the site, including a robust archive of the ever-
popular, long-running column -- "Ask E. Jean" -- authored by irreverent Elle
magazine columnist and GreatBoyfriends.com co-founder, E. Jean Carroll. The
new editorial section also spotlights e-dating etiquette, joyfully romantic
success stories, and hair-raising dating disasters.
Through July 31, GreatBoyfriends.com is running a special launch promotion
geared toward potential matchmakers and singles. Users who recommend a great
catch to GreatBoyfriends.com will receive one free month's access to unlimited
messaging privileges with the site's recommended singles.
"The Knot's new take on GreatBoyfriends.com is brilliant! It's just the
makeover our little dating site needed," said E. Jean Carroll. "The new
GreatBoyfriends.com will assuredly make a great first impression with astute
matchmakers and deserving suitors alike -- which, in the dating world, means
everything." Carley Roney, cofounder of The Knot continues, "On our wedding site, we saw
that many of our brides met their match through a friend, a relative, a
co-worker ... even, an ex-boyfriend! We're thrilled to introduce them to a fun,
trustworthy place where they can return the favor to their single friends." "The relaunch of GreatBoyfriends.com perfectly positions the site for promotion
to the millions of users already using our wedding and newlywed sites," said
CEO David Liu. "We're excited to expand our lifestage media brands and services
to a wider audience on the Web." ABOUT GREATBOYFRIENDS.COM Founded in 2002 by ELLE magazine advice columnist E. Jean Carroll and her
sister Cande Carroll, GreatBoyfriends.com is the Web's first and only
referral-based online dating website. As a start-up, the site generated
thousands of recommendations, over 300,000 registered members, and impressive
media coverage from OPRAH and TODAY to Newsweek and the coveted New York Times
Style Section. In January 2005, GreatBoyfriends.com and its assets were
acquired by leading lifestage media and services company, The Knot, Inc.
