The Herbalife Family Foundation and LA Galaxy Foundation donate $10,000 to serve more than 1,200 Los Angeles community members this Thanksgiving at A Place Called Home

The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), long-time non-profit youth center partner A Place Called Home (ACPH), and the LA Galaxy Foundation distributed and served Thanksgiving dinner to more than 1,200 Los Angeles families earlier today.

Herbalife Family Foundation officials, LA Galaxy outside back and five-time U.S. Open Cup champion James Riley, versatile defender A.J. DeLaGarza, and goalie Jaime Peneda were on site in the early morning at ACPH to distribute food and turkeys to families planning on cooking their meal at home. Additionally, staff and players served dinner, bussed tables, and interacted with guests throughout the day.

“Herbalife is committed to providing healthy, nutritious food to families in Los Angeles and around the world,” said Michael O. Johnson, Herbalife Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Serving communities and partnering with local organizations is part of Herbalife’s ethos. We are proud to be part of today’s event and honored to help give back to our local LA community.”

“We are excited to give back to our community and create a new partnership with A Place Called Home,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “We are honored to be a part of APCH’s Thanksgiving celebration and look forward to serving our local community with our partner Herbalife.”

“In a neighborhood where too many families are struggling and children are going to bed hungry, we are extremely grateful to the Herbalife Family Foundation and the LA Galaxy Foundation for partnering with us to provide an abundant holiday,” said Jonathan Zeichner, executive director, APCH. “In this very chaotic world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed -- but here's an example of making a tangible difference right here and now.”

“This partnership between the LA Galaxy, Herbalife and A Place Called Home is a model of success and I am proud to have them working in our community,” said CA Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer. “Every family should have a blessed Thanksgiving and today’s food donation and meal service will go a long way towards making that a reality for the hundreds of families joining us.”
