SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Tempur-Pedic International Inc. late
Monday named Mark Sarvary as chief executive and president, effective Aug. 4.
Sarvary succeeds H. Thomas Bryant, who plans to retire, as previously
announced. Bryant will continue to serve on Tempur-Pedic's board through the end
of the current term expiring in 2009.
Sarvary currently serves as an industrial partner with private equity firm
CVC Capital Partners.
Shares of Lexington, Ky.-based Tempur-Pedic, a maker of mattresses and
pillows, closed the regular session down about 3% at $7.81.
