TEMPE, Ariz., May 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Amtech Systems,
Inc. (NASDAQ: ASYS), a global supplier of production equipment and
related supplies for solar, semiconductor, and LED markets, today
announced that its solar subsidiary, Tempress Systems, an industry
leader for POCl3 and BBr3 (Boron) diffusion, has received a large,
multi-system order for its next-generation solar diffusion systems
from a leading solar cell and module manufacturer in
China. The systems are expected to ship within the next three
to nine months.
Mr. Fokko Pentinga, Chief
Executive Officer of Amtech, commented, "After successful
implementation of approximately 400 megawatts (MW) of HD-POCl3
systems at a top-tier Taiwanese cell producer, we are proud to
announce an order of approximately 800MW for our atmospheric
high-throughput diffusion system. This new order came from one of
the most technologically advanced cell producers in China.
"We are very pleased that our fully integrated, automated, new
system platform, including the state-of-the-art HD process, is
fully qualified and accepted in the industry at a very critical
phase of new selective expansions. This new HD-POCl3 process has
demonstrated significantly lower cost of ownership than competing
technologies and is providing important benefits to our customers.
We continue to believe that we are fully participating in the
selective expansion activities ahead of the next full recovery
cycle."
