Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care, urology and surgery, will showcase its expertise in urological and surgical solutions for hospital and home care at the European Association of Urology’s (“EAU”) 31st Annual Congress to be held in Munich, Germany on March 11-15, 2016.

A pioneer in urology products, Teleflex will present its large Rüsch® and Home Care product portfolios during the event.

Important advancements in this therapeutic area reflect the continuous customer focus and inventive spirit of Teleflex. Examples of major milestones are the ProfilCath balloon catheter, which has longitudinal grooves for better drainage of urethral secretion and reduced encrustation risk, the Ergothan tip, which facilitates a gentle insertion of intermittent catheters, and the world's first DD ureteral stents (directable and disconnectable).

Further innovations include the Irrigation System for ureterorenoscopy, which allows for a completely hands-free and sensitive irrigation of the upper urinary tract, and the Liquick Pure® and the SafetyCat Active® Intermittent Catheters. These landmark products as well as varieties of each product available from the Rüsch® product portfolio provide the individual care that users and patients expect and deserve.

“Rüsch® products from Teleflex have been at the forefront of the urology field for more than 130 years, and our mission continues to focus on providing patients with solutions that improve the health and quality of people’s lives,” says Marek Hojczyk, Senior Director Global Marketing Urology at Teleflex.

The urology portfolio is complemented by surgical products (trocars and closure systems for laparoscopic surgery, metal and polymer ligation systems, retrieval bags, and a percutaneous minimally-invasive surgical system). The innovative MiniLap® Percutaneous Surgical System with its slim 2.3 mm shaft diameter can be percutaneously inserted directly through the skin, helping to reduce the number of trocars needed in a procedure and reduce trauma for the patient.
