MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Telecom Italia SpA may seek to buy out the
Werthein family and find new partners to jointly run Telecom Argentina, the
daily Il Sole 24 Ore, without identifying its source.
The two parties control Telecom Argentina through Sofora Telecomunicaciones,
a holding company that owns 55 percent of the Argentine company.
The newspaper said Telecom Italia's lawyers are currently working on a
solution to buy out the Werthein and at a later stage bring in local partners.
