LONDON (Thomson Financial) - US biopharmaceutical Targacept Inc said it and
strategic partner AstraZeneca PLC have initiated a Phase IIb clinical trial of
AZD3480 as a potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease.
Targacept said the trial is expected to complete by the end of 2008 and that
AstraZeneca will also begin a Phase IIb trial of AZD3480 as a potential
treatment for cognitive deficits in schizophrenia in August this year.
