LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Talent Group Plc. said its underlying pretax
loss narrowed to 145,000 pounds for the six months to the end of March 2008 from
155,000 pounds last year, although revenues fell to 1.16 million pounds from
1.53 million pounds.
The company said prudent management action brought its administration
expenses down to 487,000 pounds from 626,000 pounds last year.
Talent Group said it is initiating a restructuring and reviewing the
finances of the business, in addition to major changes in its personnel and
premises, but it does not anticipate that meaningful organic progress will roll
through until the 2008 to 2009 financial year.
"Although the market remains difficult and competitive, we believe that
these conditions will offer corporate opportunities which we intend to pursue,"
said chairman Terry Bate.
