TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - Industrial output in February was down 15.63 pct from
January but up 15.22 pct year-on-year, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MoEA)
said.
The industrial output index, which is based on the 2001 benchmark of 100,
stood at 133.76 in February.
In January, industrial output rose 2.03 pct from the preceding month and was
up 12.29 pct, or a revised 11.92 pct, year-on-year.
For the first two months of the year, the industrial output index rose 13.41
pct to 146.14.
The MoEA also said the manufacturing sector index in February shed 15.50 pct
from the preceding month but was up 16.21 pct year-on-year.
The February housing construction sector index was down 30.27 pct from
January and down 2.59 pct from the corresponding period last year, it said.
