TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - Share prices opened little changed following a mixed
showing on Wall Street Friday despite better-than-expected US jobs and factory
orders data.
Many investors were also on the sidelines as they wait for Ma Ying-jeou to
take over as Taiwan's president later this month, dealers said, noting hopes for
concrete policy initiatives towards China.
At 9.07 am, the weighted index was down 9.62 points or 0.11 pct at 8,954.01,
after opening at 8,968.54.
Turnover was 15.28 bln twd.
