NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. Monday
said it has signed several agreements that include syndication of its program
listings grid, as well as editorial and video content, with several U.S. media
outlets.
Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune will have the right to use the branded TV Guide
listings grid on its Web site and in daily print and electronic versions. TV
Guide is also entering a marketing partnership with the newspaper to sell TV
Guide magazine to the Star-Tribune's subscribers.
Variety will have the right to use Gemstar-TV Guide's patented interactive
program listings grid on its Web site.
The Seattle-Post Intelligencer will feature TV Guide's branded editorial
content on the front page of its Web site and in its entertainment section.
Voxant will feature TV Guide's editorial feeds on its Web site.
These syndication deals add to recent syndication agreements with Glam
Media, Clear Channel Communications, Fox Interactive, IGN Entertainment and the
Fox Television Station Group.
Shares of Gemstar-TV Guide closed at $6.62 on Friday.
