CHERRY HILL, N.J., May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®, aims to raise more than $1 million for Special Olympics chapters across its Maine-to-Florida footprint over the coming weeks.

America's Most Convenient Bank

TD Bank, along with TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation (NYSE: AMTD) and TD Auto Finance, will support Special Olympics through the bank's 7th annual fundraising program, starting May 18.

"Special Olympics does an amazing job empowering children and adults with intellectual disabilities," said Fred Graziano, Executive Vice President and Head of Regional Commercial Banking, Government Banking and Small Business for TD Bank. "Each year we are thrilled to support such a remarkable organization that inspires so many athletes and their families, and does so much for the community."

Last year, TD customers and employees raised more than $1 million for Special Olympics from Maine to Florida through their purchase of wristbands and donations. TD Bank has raised more than $6 million since 2009.

Green and white wristbands, featuring the TD Bank and Special Olympics logos, will be available for $5 each at all TD Bank stores. Customers and non-customers can also use Penny Arcade to count and donate their loose change; the standard fee will be waived for non-customers who donate. As a part of TD's company-wide fundraising efforts, employees will have the opportunity to contribute towards the program internally through direct corporate donations. Special Olympics will receive 92 percent of all funds raised through these promotions.

"Special Olympics inspires all of us to open our hearts to a wider world of human talent and potential and TD Ameritrade is proud to collaborate on this effort with TD Bank," said Katrina Becker, managing director of communications and public affairs, TD Ameritrade.

The Special Olympics fundraising program runs from May 18 through June 26, 2015.
