SuperSport Uses Entriq Technology to Protect and Monetize 25 Days of Live And On-Demand Cricket Matches SuperSport On-Demand's Streaming Video of South African and West Indian Cricket Matches Uses Windows Media Digital Rights Management to Secure Live Broadcast

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Entriq, Inc., an innovative company that provides Pay Media services to leading content providers, ISPs, and cable operators around the world, has been retained by the leading sports channel in Africa and South Africa, SuperSport, to provide content protection, end-user authorization and billing for SuperSport On-Demand's package of live South African and West Indian cricket. The pay media service offering is based on the Microsoft Windows Media 9 Series platform and is accessed via the website http://www.supersportondemand.com/ . The announcement was made today by Jan Steenkamp, CEO, Entriq. Inc.

"Growth of broadband is making paid content viable on the Internet. With SuperSport On Demand, we are helping SuperSport expand their market reach on the Internet while also making it possible for them to protect and monetize live content as it is happening," said Steenkamp. "We believe this is another first and will be one of the many ways content owners using Entriq will be able to secure new revenue streams from selling content on the Internet."

SuperSport On-Demand's pay media cricket package includes four, 5-day live test matches; five, one-day live internationals; daily highlights; individual batting highlights; real-time scorecards; and daily interactive batman's highlights scorecards.

"Entriq is really at the leading edge of technology applications for the pay media business," said Heinrich Enslin, CEO, SuperSport On Demand. "We are delighted that they were able to make this content offering work for us, as well as for South African and West Indian cricket fans around the world."

"We're excited to see Windows Media 9 Series used as part of Entriq's solution for SuperSport," said Jason Reindorp, Group Manager, Windows Digital Media Division, Microsoft Corp. "Windows Media Digital Rights Management has proven itself to be well suited to this kind of model and shows how easy it is for companies to monetize their assets in this way."

Entriq offers clients a full spectrum of technologies to monitor, manage, protect and sell Pay Media. These include billing and customer care, support and services for Pay Media, conditional access for online media and tools for publishing content online.

Boyd Peterson, Vice President, Consumers, Media and Entertainment, The Yankee Group commented: "The Entriq solution aptly fills the biggest missing part of the broadband paid content equation. Content providers that wish to monetize their assets on-line need the ability to secure, bill and manage their assets. Entriq can take care of all the heavy lifting, and let the content providers focus on what they do best."
