NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Sun Microsystems Inc. Monday said it received
$44.3 million in funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency
(DARPA) for a five and a half-year research project focused on microchip
interconnectivity.
The company said the project would begin with an incremental delivery of
$8.1 million to its microelectronics and laboratories divisions.
Shares of Sun, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based semiconductor company, closed
Thursday at $16.02.
