Norwegian oil and gas major Statoil ASA (STO) said Tuesday it
has awarded a NOK2 billion contract to Kvaerner ASA (KVAER.OS) to
deliver the riser platform jackets, the structures that drilling
platforms sit on, for the Johan Sverdrup field.
Delivery is scheduled for the summer of 2017, contingent on an
investment decision for the development which is scheduled for
February 2015 and subject to the Norwegian parliament's approval of
the plan for development and operation (PDO).
It said the first phase of the field development consists of
four installations and jackets and comprises an accommodation
platform, a drilling platform, a riser platform and a processing
platform.
