Statement re press speculation
The board of Screen notes recent press speculation concerning a possible equity
issue in order to strengthen the Company's balance sheet. The board confirms
that it is at an advanced stage of discussions with potential institutional and
other investors concerning a significant injection of new equity capital into
the Company.
The board also confirms that such a fundraising would, inter alia, be subject to
the approval of shareholders and, should negotiations continue to progress
favourably, would hope to make a detailed announcement and send the relevant
documentation to shareholders by the end of this month.
The Company continues to operate within its existing banking facilities and also
to enjoy the support of its bankers. Trading at an operating level is in line
with expectations and the board confirms that the rationalisation of the Petards
Division referred to in the interim statement will be complete by the end of the
year.
