Shared 1st place rankings also received for overall, reliability, data, and call network performance as well as 1st place outright win in text

Sprint today announced that its Dayton, Ohio network received a 1st place ranking for fastest mobile network and shared 1st place rankings in overall, reliability, data, and call network performance, as well as a 1st place outright win in text, according to a new RootScore® Report by independent mobile analytics firm RootMetrics®.

Since RootMetrics’ previous test five months ago, Sprint’s percentage of time on LTE increased from approximately 50 percent to 97 percent. Subsequently, Sprint’s median download speed increased by more than 500 percent. As for call performance, Sprint did not record any blocked calls during testing.

“Our network gets better every day, and we’re working hard to provide the consistent reliability, capacity, and speed that our customers demand,” said Scott Santi, vice president of Sprint’s network in the North Region. “We’re very pleased with these latest results in Dayton and we will continue to invest in the network. With our new low-cost pricing plans, there’s never been a better time to give Sprint a try.”

Following a multi-year overhaul, the Sprint network now provides significantly better call quality and faster data speeds in more places than before. Additionally, according to RootMetrics, Sprint has been awarded a total of 104 first place (outright or shared) RootScore Awards for overall, reliability, speed, data, call, or text network performance in the 77 markets measured to date in the 1st half of 2015.1
