Spicy Pickle™ fast casual restaurants (OTC BB:
SPKL) today announced it will be holding a fundraiser on Tuesday, May 6,
to raise money on behalf of the “Care for the
Caregivers” program at Chicago’s
Children’s Memorial Hospital. Throughout the
day on May 6, 15% of all sales generated by the Spicy Pickle restaurant
located at 2312 N. Lincoln Avenue, directly across the street from the
hospital, will be donated to this newly developed program. Care for the
Caregivers provides support and wellness programs for the dedicated
doctors and nurses who provide round-the-clock care for many of Chicago’s
most critically ill children.
“Spicy Pickle cares not only about children,
but also about those healthcare professionals who have dedicated their
careers to helping Chicago’s kids live full
and healthy lives,” stated Bob Marcum,
general manager of Spicy Pickle’s first
Chicago location. “May 6 is National Nurses
Day, so there isn’t a better occasion to stop
in and have lunch or dinner to show your support for Children’s
Memorial, and to help us raise money for an extremely worthy cause.”
Children’s Memorial’s
“Care for the Caregivers”
program supports hospital professionals with relaxation and massage
programs, health education sessions, exercise programs and more. The
program helps those who provide lifesaving care for the hospital’s
patients—some 113,000 children each year—remain
healthy, energized and well-trained for their daily tasks.
“Spicy Pickle is a great neighbor and partner
of Children’s Memorial, and we appreciate
their support of our ‘Care for the Caregivers’
program. By supporting those who are at the bedside of our neediest
children, we can ensure the top quality care for which our institution
is known,” said Elizabeth Wolcott, senior
development officer at Children’s Memorial
Hospital. “We hope as many of our employees
as possible, as well as our patients’
families and the general public, will enjoy a panini, salad, sub
sandwich or pizzetti at our neighborhood Spicy Pickle on May 6.”
Spicy Pickle, one of the hottest ideas in fast casual food today, offers
customers a wide variety of culinary-inspired menu items served with
warm and welcoming service amid a comfortable neighborhood atmosphere.
Patrons can select from eight different hot pressed panini sandwiches,
seven subs, six gourmet salads and its signature 11-inch Neapolitan thin
crust pizza in eight different varieties—plus
a build-your-own sandwich menu, that allows customers to “play
in their own culinary playground”. A kid’s
menu for ages 8 and under is offered as well.
The Lincoln Park Spicy Pickle will be open Tuesday, May 6 from 10:30 AM
until 8:00 PM. Catering orders will be included in the “Care
for the Caregivers” fundraiser. For more
